new blog to heart
arlene guerra, jewlery designer, teen vogue favorite and stylist to the stars has begun yet a new project to exploit her talent for shopping and styling ladies: thrifty english queen she researches the runways finding the hottest newest looks, and then goes to vintage, thrift and antique stores looking for similar clothing as shown on the runways and pulls together a very similar looks from say Marc Jacobs spring ‘09 for a mere fraction of the price, and a bit more originality too boot! next week she is also launching an online store where you will be able to buy all of these fabulous vintage finds… xo c

I just recently returned from a vacation to Oaxaca city. I had been there once before many years ago, for only a few days and not until this trip did I fall utterly in love with the place and it’s people. What a colorful existence! Food and textiles, mezcal and music on every corner. 16th century buildings whose interiors are filled with modern design and creative graffiti. Here are a few photos of the trip and most definitely inspiration for the next group of dresses I’ll be making. xo
on the cover!
the studio has been bustling as of late. always a good thing, especially since business should seemingly be slowing down with this terrible economy. but things have been rather fantastic, much busier and much more fun than usual! we have a wedding dress for a miss bridgit we’re cooking up, ready to begin sewing and i think it just may be the most beautiful and whimsical dress we’ve ever made! can’t wait to post pictures of her from the May wedding (NYC here we come!) the studio has also been working on a secret internet project with a certain mister scott, which should be due for public revealing sometime by the end of this year. think of everything in your closet being online and stylists at your beck and call. the future… just imagine the possibilities!! and last but not least… mexico has been giving us A LOT of love as of late, especially Marie Claire, Mexico (hellooo COVER!!) and Bazaar en Espanol. we set up shop in mexico about 3 years ago and since day 1, everyone has been so inviting, welcoming, helpful… really a very open and creative environment for a designer. the big magazines really DO support the young talent here, and there is MUCHO young talent to go around. the only problem seems to be that there are very very few boutiques here to sell a young designer’s collections, or showrooms to open a line of communication with boutiques in other countries. someone needs to take this project on…

a dress with magic and heart
Our exquisite handmade dresses are not only made to last a few life times and are one-of-a-kind, but they are also classically beautiful pieces you will wear forever and then pass down to children or grandchildren, heritage pieces. Our subtle designs are not based on fickle trends as so much of the throwaway fashion of today is, but rather on classic ideas and modern lines which quietly enhance a lady’s glow when she walks into a room, and leave a trail of magic tricks and mystery in her wake. We pride ourselves on hand-creating every single item which leaves our studio and in turn gifting our clients with feelings other-worldly womanliness when she slips into a piece. An experience not to be missed!
Experience our one-of-a-kind dresses made to order…weddings, bridesmaids, fancy garden parties, private affairs… In one of our most recent collaborations, our beautiful and stylish client Roslyn wears a silk bias-cut floor length gown with hand braided leather, click below for photographs and contact sales@christinahattler.com for more information on our made-to-measure, demi-couture process.

We held our first ever event in Mexico at Garash Galeria around two weeks ago and it went extremely well! The space was breathtakingly beautiful, a turn of the century house converted into a gallery space, with 20ft. ceilings, crystal chandeliers in every room, hand carved moldings around every window and wall…seriously, it does not get more dazzling than this. And most exciting of all, our pieces look exquisite in the space, it created the perfect hazily romantic environment to try on and purchase our clothes….so much so that we are even now considering opening a little boutique in a similar space! Here are a few pictures…
